Student applicants to the IEEE Magnetics Society Summer School are required to obtain a letter of recommendation from their adviser. Priority will be given to students who get a recommendation from a member of the Society. If the adviser is not a member of the Magnetics Society, the applicant may optionally request a second recommendation from a current member.
How to write a recommendation for a student:
On the student's online application form the student will provide the email address(es) of the faculty member(s) which they wish to have write a recommendation. When the student submits his/her application, these faculty members will automatically be sent an email which contains a link to the faculty endorsement form for that student.
In order to assure a diverse group of students, we may limit the number of students accepted from a particular laboratory or geographic region. Advisers are requested to help the selection committee by suggesting priority of students they are recommending.
