The Tenth Biennial IEEE Conference on Electromagnetic Field Computation (CEFC) will be held at Perugia during June 16-19, 2002. Perugia is an ancient town founded in the prehistoric epoch, located in the Umbria region, also called "the green heart of Italy" for its rich and extensive vegetation. Perugia is a very popular tourist destination, known for its important monuments, its folklore, its rich cuisine and its quiet and friendly people. The last Conference was held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA in 2000. The aims of the IEEE CEFC are to present the latest developments in modelling and simulation methodologies for the analysis of electromagnetic fields and wave interactions, with the application emphasis being on the computer-aided design of low and high frequency devices, components and systems. Scientists and engineers worldwide are invited to submit original contributions in the areas of static and quasi-static fields; wave propagation; material modelling; coupled problems, optimisation; numerical techniques, software methodology; applications of electromagnetic CAD to electrical/electronic device, component and system prototyping. The Conference will feature oral and poster presentations.
The official language of the Conference will be English. Paper review will be based on the technical merit of the work submitted. Papers, suffering from excessive, grammatical and spelling mistakes however, may be returned to the authors because of the difficulty in evaluating them. It is suggested that authors should try to get their paper(s) proofread by a native English-speaking colleague, if their native language is not English.
The Conference will consist of three full days of oral and poster sessions. Oral sessions will be scheduled each day. A detailed Preliminary Program will be sent to all authors and pre-registrants before the Conference. The registration form, information on accommodation and social activities will be available in the web pages of the Conference.
The main topics of interest for the conference are:
During the Conference, an exhibition of software, computing hardware and peripherals, equipment, materials,
services and literature is planned. This will be an excellent opportunity for software companies to present their
latest developments in terms of electromagnetic field analysis and coupled problems to a world-wide public of
researchers and engineers.
